THIS IS THE TIME WHEN THE JEWS CELEBRATES SHEVOUT, WHICH THE CHRISTIANS CALL PENTECOST. THE FEAST IS A THANKSGIVING TO GOD, FOR GIVING THEM THE LAW ON SINAI.
Since the temple is gone, the Jews celebrate this feast in quite another way than in the old days. In addition to be a feast of thanksgiving for the wheat harvest and the first fruit, it also is a thanksgiving for the ten commandments which were given on Sinai. One can say that Shevout was the birthday of the Law.
Christianity is in opposition to this view of Sinai and the Law. «The covenant … from the mount Sinai … gendereth to bondage.» Gal.4:24. «As many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse …» Gal.3:10.
But this is not what the Lord teaches us. He says: «He sheweth his word unto Jacob, and his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. He hath not dealt so with any nation : and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.» Psalm 147:19-20.
«Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments.» Neh.9:13.
God’s eternal covenant with all people, is built on the ten commandments. For the Lord says: «He declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments ; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.» Deut.4:13.
This covenant of God, was abolished by the gentile Christians on the socalled apostle meeting in Jerusalem. Isn’t it now time for Christianity to abolish what was approved on that meeting???
